CRFF is a premiere LGBTQIA+ film festival in India since 2013
It received more than 5000 films from around the world and screened nearly 300 films in its last three editions. CRFF specifically focused on film themes which resonate with Indian audience and current issues that affects the community. That’s why CRFF had an overwhelming audience of thousands almost on every single screening day since its inception. It also screened some of the films in premiere theatres in Chennai and attracted mainstream audience, media and film critiques.

First CRFF 2013 was conducted for three days screened from a single venue, Alliance Francaise of Madras comprised of film screenings, a panel discussion, dance performances and an Award show. Popular film artists such as legendary Director & Cinematographer Balu Mahendra, Actor Sarath Kumar, Actor S.V.E. Sekhar, Actress Fatima Ravi participated as guests.
The second edition of CRFF 2015 has been conducted for four days screened from two different venues. It comprised special performances from Alex Victor from Bangalore, dance performance from the local community, a panel discussion on Media sensitization, an Award show, an Art exhibition. A Tamil feature length film called ‘Magizhvan’ has been awarded as the winner of CRFF 2015. Legendary actor and director Bhagyaraj, director Vikraman, actress Dheepa Ramanujam, actress Manju felicitated the event.
The third edition of CRFF 2017 has been conducted for four days with a calendar launch party at Park Hyatt and then screenings at three venues such as Alliance Francaise of Madras, Madras School of Social Works, AGS Theatres and MMM Theatres. Film artists such as actor Bharath, doctor Kamala Selvaraj, entrepreneur Sam Paul, media personality Apsara, actress Sonia Agarwal felicitated the event. Nearly 150 films has been screened and an cash prize award ceremony for the best films has been conducted. On the final day screening actor Aadhi and several socialites participated in the film festival.
